How many pair of shoes do you have? Out of those pairs, how many do you wear more than a few times a year?
Submitted by fightinggale.
Including 3 pairs of golf spikes, 1 pair of fake Crocs, and 1 pair of gardening shoes, I have a total of about 16. I'd say there are about 6 pairs that I don't wear more than a few times a year. My oldest pair are from 1995 and are mint condition Bass (sort of) hikers, green and orange, yeah baby!
What fictional character do you relate to most and why?
The first character that comes to mind is Scout from the novel, 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. Although she was much more intelligent than I was at her age, her innocence and simple sense of right and wrong brought me back to my childhood.
Will the rising cost of gasoline change your summer travel plans?
I don't think it will change our travel plans, and we do have plans to go camping a couple of times as well as down to Tennessee. It will and has actually changed the way I view day to day errands. It sounds pathetic, but I try to combine as many errands as possible so that I'm only going into the city no more than once a week, and many times Billy can do my bidding... (insert evil laughter). Pretty much right now, my only concern gas price wise is traveling to and from the golf course a few days a week (often I'll combine that with a run to MomG's or the grocery store...). I considered club storage at the course (for $100) and thought I could ride my bike (bicycle that is...) back and forth then I started laughing so hard I nearly choked.
What do you love about where you live?
Submitted by Emu with a Clue.
We live just far enough away from the city to have fields behind us. We live close enough to the city to have all of its conveniences. The Town of Kingsville has low taxes. We are close to Detroit which is great for media and events. We have all four seasons. We are surrounded by 2 lakes which is fun in the summer. We live next to my mom and family which is surprisingly good. I love everything about where we live and our house. My only complaint would be that it is flat, flat flat. The biggest hill is the 401 overpasses... oh and the dumps...
Why do you think it is some people don't get along with you?
Oh, that's a tough one that requires some thought... I think in general I'm pretty easy to get along with, but I really don't like people who behave as I did in my late teens or early 20's... but they are in their 30's or older: attention whores, show offs, enough about me - more about me, etc. I think that my reaction to these types (impatience, occasional disgust) makes them view me as a lofty bitch.
Is it too easy and perhaps immature to say jealousy breeds hostility in my 'peer' (oh, I typo'ed peep, that's funny...) group? Considering the lack of adult behavior by some people I know, I'd have to say not.
I also think that it is easier for some people to judge me, than try to understand me.
The people that don't get along with me are so self involved, self-centred, and self-important that I'm sure I don't enter their thoughts unless there is some nasty gossip that they have either caused or exaggerated upon.
I will say that it is a difficult to look within yourself to see the faults that others hold againts you. This is an interesting QotD, and I've read some other blogger's replies which pretty much glaze over the idea with 'I'm a bitch!'
Hmm, something to consider... let me know if you have any insight on yourself...
Who is your favorite Survivor on Fans vs. Favorites?
Ozzy, by far. I hope he doesn't get the screw this time... I think he's not deceptive enough...
Love it or hate it, many of you lost an hour of sleep last night due to Daylight Saving Time? Worth It? Do you like it more/less now that Daylight Saving Time occurs earlier (and later) in the year?
I like the change being earlier (and later) in the year. It did suck this particular morning as I was in the dentist's chair at what felt like 7:30am.
How would you describe your home's interior design and decor?
Calming, inviting, and comfortable.
What is a "charmed life"?
Uh, mine... ;P
What's the worst thing that could happen to you today? Bonus question: How would that thing potentially benefit you?
The worst possible thing would be that I would drink way too much alcohol tonight, and end up sick and vomiting. I'd benefit from that as I wouldn't be as hung over tomorrow.
You always have to look on the bright side of things, don't ya?
