Because I'm too lazy to write anything... hopefully they load quick!
My mother in law always sends me 'Maxine' jokes, and are rarely chuckle worthy... except these...
As seen in Walmart.... Perhaps in Crossville TN? Yikes! Some people need some serious self respect...
Apparently Walmart is a favorite shopping destination of Nazi's... love the racial diversity in the pic as well... I wonder if she is wearing confederate flag pants?
A beard and boobs... can you say sexy? Sweet cleavage Grampa!
Hahaha! Who knew that Big Ben shops at Walmart?
A look all woman should strive to re-create! That's more than muffin top - more like a portobello mushroom cap!
I wonder if this guy just purchased 'Guitar Hero 80's Edition'? Or perhaps some multi-coloured feather roach clips?
Please note that she in not shopping in the PANTS department...
Ah... what a great way to start the day... laughing at people who are obviously not as perfect as myself...
I was quite productive yesterday. I finally got to the kitchen, bathroom (s) and bar cupboards - cleaning them all inside and out. It feels so good to open a cabinet or draw and not see crumbs, clutter and the like. Aaahhh...
Last night I watched the new A&E show called 'Hoarders'. I cannot relate to these people - not even a little bit! Wow! There was this one couple that was on the brink of having their kids taken away from them by child protective services, because their house was such a hot mess. I mean they had months of laundry lying on the floor. They eat their dinner every night in bed as there isn't any room on their kitchen table or anywhere else for that matter. The husband was so strangely emotional about his 'things' (fishtanks, old broken toys, etc) that he was on the edge of freaking out when they made the leap to have their house cleaned out.
The other featured lady was facing eviction, and a hoarder of many things, but most disgustingly food. Apparently at one time in her life she didn't have money to buy food and now that she does, she stocks up on sales, even when the food is perishable. She believes that expiry dates don't really matter as long as the food has been kept cold. I mean she had yogurt that expired over a year ago and was struggling to part with it! She thought if the container wasn't bloated that the bacteria hadn't grown to the point of hurting her.... The psychologist who was helping her pointed out that there would be life threatened amounts of bacteria in order for a container to bulge. He was so patient with her! There was drippy wet goo coming from her freezer and it was so jammed full that some of the items couldn't freeze and she often had to duct tape the door closed. She had pumpkins from a year ago, flies everywhere, several cats, and garbage piled high.
Ugh.
These people are paralyzed by their things. They are comforted by them in a totally unhealthy way.
I don't get it. They can't be happy, and I view neatness and cleanliness (or at least some degree of 'order') a very important foundation for a content and enjoyable life. I know that I'm a slightly on the extreme opposite side... let's take a tour shall we? Here are some places in our house that drive me a little crazy because they are cluttered/messy/unorganized...
Printer area: Way too many pens, pencils and markers. Too many bills (haha) pictures that need to be filed, random notes and pictures that need to be put away.
In the computer room under the TV - because we don't have any desk drawers, there are paperclips, stapler, calculator, glue sticks, cheques, phone books (I never use them, except for Cottam, as it isn't on Canada411.ca), an old postcard album from the 1920's (what do I do with that?) WOW stuff, a box of my grandmother's pictures, my New Testament from the 5th grade (can't throw that away...) old golf balls and a tee holder from Cosy Corners (certainly a keeper but where?) Then there is maps from our trip and a box of electrical crap that we *might* need one day...
Oh, God, the computer room closet makes me crazy! Magazines (I do go through them and toss occasionally - we're about due right now!) Old textbooks from university (why?), my mom's printer, because it doesn't work with her system, so we traded, but the new one is crappy, so I print stuff for her on my old one) envelopes (need those for the golf year end payouts), photo albums, trip albums, more golf stuff, my old labtop is hiding in there, extra paper, blank CD's, pretty rocks (seriously, what I am going to do with those? I should put them by the pond... I'll start thinking about that today), and an entire filing cabinet filled with bills (only 2 years worth) tax stuff, old university essays (again - why?), etc. etc. etc.!!! An old keyboard, buletin board, pictures/paintings, stuff that needs to be sewed, a papercutter, hole puncher, first aid kits, a 2nd place blackjack trophy from 2001 (laughing), a dictionary (why oh why? - in case the internet is down?) a mirror, plaques, diplomas, sewing box, a box of old cards, used batteries and ink cartredges, more pictures, ARRRGGG!
There is way too much stuff on our bar fridge. The wine glasses don't fit in the drawers in thebar that we had built to store glass in... A total pain in the ass to dust! Plus the glasses have to be washed every so often as they get dusty too.
This is in our washer/dryer closet. Arg! All our cleaning stuff plus random light bulbs, glue, spray paint, candle stuff, hotel soaps (why?), tape, laundry stuff (hello - Dry-ell? I used to use it all the time...) unused batteries, cleaning cloths... etc. etc. etc!
Now, areas of sweet peace.
Ah - that's more like it! Neat and orderly pantry.
Makes me feel good whenever I need a fork.
Coffee, tea and related item... Brilliant!
Billy's armoire... which I lovingly take care of...
So there, you go, there's my 'dirty laundry' and guess what I'm doing today?
In my conscious attempt to soak up the remainder of the summer - I did my best to have a great week-end. I believe that I succeeded.
- Barbecued steaks with the husband and had a few drinks on the deck.
- Played golf in a SC event. The format was really fun. It was a four person team scramble, but when our team scored a birdie we had to move back a tee. Let me tell you - SC is a different course from the whites! I kept thinking that my drives were really short - then I realized that I was back a good 50 yards from my normal tee shot. We had drinks outside with friends and all in all it was a great day. ---Quite significant as well is The Jude (after she gave me half of her breakfast sandwich, as I was trying to rid myself of a hangover...) asked me to go with her to the Cleveland at Lion's game in November! Hells yeah! I can't imagine the fun we're going to have!---
- Went in the pool and lounged in the sun.
- Attended a 'cultural' event. I ventured out to Amherstburg and watched a heritage committee re-enact of slaves escaping to freedom. It was very cool, historically accurate and moving. A boat was paddled from just north of Boblo Island and landed at Elliot's Point, just south of the old mainland Boblo dock - an area referred to in the book, 'Uncle Tom's Cabin'. There were a group of period dressed people singing, waving and welcoming the newly escaped slaves. They were then welcomed by a period actress dressed as a local lady who was known to have helped many former slaves settle in Ontario. Very cool.
This guy was looking right at me - and it choked me up! People we yelling, 'thank Jesus!' and 'welcome home'. etc...
It was a hot, steamy week-end which we ended with ribs at MomG's house. Watched a little golf and watched a little football. This week-end we're skipping town and camping in Goderich. Can't wait!
My my, life is goooooooood.
If Vox is agreeable.
Kim and I... my face looks a little........ imp-like? Weird.
Here is a table - note the Sex on the Beach(s)... I didn't request the fan like mid 80's Chinese food restaurant inspired napkins in a short, stocky wine glass also from the mid 80's, but oh well.
Randoms
Door prize table.
Raffle table and a couple of randoms.
The D.O.G. and me - getting my speak on, moments from me getting my drink on.
Happy Kiki.
Thanks to T.L (who I'm sure doesn't even know this blog exists) for the pics. Well done.
Yesterday everything went as planned... Billy was actually home from work hours earlier than expected as some part was the wrong size. I nodded and pretended I knew WTH he was talking about, but I was just happy to see him... It all worked out.
We had an amazing steak (Schinkels' rocks), I had a bottle of Erie Shore Summer Sun before dinner - perfect for a hot summery day, and Concha y Toro Cab Sav with the steak - it was good, but a bit big and jammy for me... We watched a couple 'Prison Break' episodes, and they were 'okay'. I could do without that show.
All in all it was a fab night.
Today should prove to be quite awesome. I think Billy and I are going to take care of business a bit around here... I want to get that mulch down that Billy raked from the front yard, and I think William may cut the grass. I would love to find some more flowers (a lot of things are on sale now...) and we're almost out of CoffeeMate - so I may have to run into town.
We are golfing today with Revenue Canada John and his Revenue Canada wife. Should be fun!
Here are some pics from the yard from a couple of weeks ago which I forgot to post...
Life's good...
I was going to work on the house in Windsor today, but I thought I would instead nurse my slight hangover, and hang out about the house.
William is working today. I think he's already put in about 65 hours this week, plus he's on call...
Sooooo here are a few of my favorite things... Some you may have seen before, but hey, they are still things I like!
Here is some wine. Aside from Sprucewood's Pinot Noir, my new favorite (not here...) is Gran Corona from Spain. I think tonight I'll try the No. 99...
This sits on our fireplace mantle. William ah, stole it a few years back...
I keep random pictures in this box, ones that don't fit or belong in one of our many photo albums. I've received many compliments on it, and I purchased it 4 years ago at Zehrs of all places for $20.
This is the first plant I ever owned. My sister bought it for me in 1997. I'm not kidding when I say I have cut miles of growth off this plant.
This crazy map I bought in Tennessee at an awesome store that is now closed... It is a map of Europe, but it's the view is East-West, not North-South! Weird. I love it.
This is the view from our bedroom. I just love it!
He he he. Plants in the bathtub... I love it! The planted actually leaks so it's the perfect spot. I don't know too many homes with 6 plants in the bathroom. The little ones in the window I bought last year to provide 'privacy'. I don't think they work well for that, but I really like them!
This is the view from the back door (from the upper deck).
Here is our bookshelf. I don't buy books general, but sometimes MomG or William buy me some. Many I get from my friend Rachelle, who passes them on once she's done. I've read just about everything on the shelves except the poetry, the last 1/4 of the 3rd book of The Lord Of The Rings, and one of the Dean Koontz books... The pooch pic is Sarabi, our 2 year old Ridgie that died 4 years ago...
Here's the kitchen viewed from the back door. I love our cabinets, light fixtures, barstools and all the light. Actually, there's nothing I don't love about it...
Here is part of our basement. I know I sound like a broken record, but I love it! It's bright, open but cosy, and perfect for us.
I just love this map of Hawaii!
Hello hole! This is a weird view... it kinda makes me feel dizzy.
This is the view (uh, looking down) from our office. It started snowing like crazy at 11am, and now it's covered in about 4 inches of heavy snow.
The AreoGarden is seriously out of control. We really only use the parsley and basil, but the mint is taking over! I really have to keep up on it, and I haven't been.
That is all for now.
I'm feeling quite relieved. Yesterday I finally spoke with the woman who coordinates the women's golf tournament dates, and we now we know that July 14th will be our 18 hole invitational. I'm meeting with this woman next week, as she offered to give me some advice regarding the tournament. I feel I was in a little bit of a predicament, as the binder with the 18 hole tournament information was not passed on to me, as the league information was. The lady that I believe to have this info, for some reason, does not seem to 'like' me, and I would prefer to just not deal with that.
The new pro at Sutton Creek mentioned that he ran the couple's league for years at the course he used to be at (to a great success), and hopefully he is willing to do that for us. I hope to play a lot this year in the couple's league, and it would be great just to show up and play and not be involved in running a game... (although it would probably be only once every 5 weeks or so)... I feel I am doing enough this year at the course...

I picked up 3 new books I had ordered at the library. I'm happy that all the books arrived at the same time, to avoid multiple trips.

I took poochy (who is staring at me right now) to the Maidstone Covservation Area this morning. It was gorgeous, quiet and COLD! I think it's about 8*F outside right now, wind chills are 15* below. Enough already. I would have liked to walked the paths twice around, but it was too cold, even all dudded up.
I had my old camera with me (afraid that the new one would get all condensation - y), here are a few pics...
___________
I dread recieving the next gas and hydro bill... it seems like the furnace is constantly running the last few weeks. I know our hydro bill will be high because the hot tub cover is saturated, and not doing it's job... we'll replace it next fall...
___________
I'm going to the indoor golf place tonight, then out to dinner. That should be fun. Tomorrow is Bridal Idol at the Tecumseh Roadhouse with some of the girls (TOL is in Vegas and SuperT is in Chicago) to support KT's sister, I have to watch my dollars this week...
__________
The ceiling in the living room and dining room is almost done at the house in Windsor, which means I can begin to clean and paint soon, probably starting next week. I need to get out looking again for a mirror and bathroom light fixture, as well as lights or fans for the living/dining room areas. CHEAP ones! It will be good to have that done, and then to figure something out with the kitchen...

I wanted to wedge my way through a box of chocolates last night, but I resisted the urge by watching a DVR'd diet show from Discovery Health called, 'The Last 10 Pounds'. It's actually a little lame, not surprisingly Canadian, (although we recieve and American signal) but it kept me from being a bad bad girl.
__________
That is all... I'm still developing some other thoughts though... one of these days...
