Okay the Titans won and the Cleveland Browns post seasons hopes are dashed. How does a team win 10 games and not make the playoffs? Oh well, I'll get over it.
Tonight is New Years Eve! Another little get together involving food and drink. It should prove to be most fun indeed. Anytime there is a 10 lbs prime rib involved it has to be fun...
Have a great New Year's everyone! I'll think about my resolutions later... maybe less procrastinating as one?
Just nothing much to say, yah right!
I think I'm going to go have a few drinks and watch Indy decimate the Titans, so that the Browns can make the playoffs...
Tell me how Pittsburgh is 10 and 6 and wins the division and Cleveland - in the exact same division - (AFC North) is 10 and 6 and their only playoff hope is if Tennessee loses.
Timing is everything I guess...
Christmas was great! I was spoiled rotten yet again! The friends, family and all that goes with the season was just perfect.
Billy bought me, (although we 'agreed' not to exchange gifts this year, and instead get a TV for the bedroom) a sweet Browns' Santa's hat, a Cleveland Browns' scarf and a Joshua Cribbs ball cap. Sweet. I received great clothes, some Lush bath bombs, (yummy) a futuristic herb garden, a booze dispenser (awesome, can't wait to use it on New Years..) a new DDR game, a mini crock pot, perfect for brie dip (yes!) a Rhodesian Ridgeback calender, a little hat, a couple of books, and more if you can believe it. I also learned what to do in case of a Reindeer attack! (whew!)
I think that everyone liked what we got them too. My mom loves her new monitor, and me thinks a certain husband may get one like it soon... The boys always like anything from West 49, and MacNZ is the easiest person in the world to please...
So obviously not only about the presents, it was fun at my mom's with all the kids. They had a great time, t'was a wee zany. At Mom G's we had a fantastic dinner and player a card game for several hours. It was a night of F bombs that will not soon be forgotten.
Life is so good, and I'm so lucky to have family, friends, and the necessary wherewithall to enjoy it all. I hope that y'all did too!

I'm not going to talk about football. If you follow it at all, you'll know my feelings....
What a great week-end! The indoor golf was so much fun. It's great that just my husband and I can have a good time together... Did I mention the Keg? It was awesome. Fun, laughs, great chow.
Way too much merriment and merrymaking. For the new year I may need to detox.
Enjoy Christmas Eve!
I just read a blog of whom I lurk, and she write that she had a doctors' appointment and was totally annoyed because in the waiting area a woman was reading out loud to her child, and although she can appreciate that reading to little kids is beneficial, it was a small space, and she couldn't concentrate on her book.
So you know what she did? She read her book out loud.
That's frickin funny.
If she didn't live in Vancouver, I'd totally buy her lunch.
This week-end is shaping up to be awesome! Two weeks ago we had no plans for this week-end. The only one in December without a party or anything going on, then we received an invitation in the mail about a week ago for Saturday night. This is annual party that we've been attending for about 4 years. Fun stuff.
On Saturday Billy has booked us a tee time for the indoor golf place (Yeah!) for just the two of us. (...I think that there is a gift certificate lingering in his wallet somewhere....) we are also going to finish up shopping and maybe check out (our gift for each other) a new TV, stand and arm for the bedroom. We've never had a TV in our bedroom, and although it doesn't represent the state of our marriage, it would be convenient for nights where he has friends over and I don't feel like A) reading B) watching them slay mutant half dead zombies C) playing on the computer or watching TV from the non-comfort of the desk chair. I'm looking forward to laying in bed with a hang over and watching Ellen, (okay not so much the hang-over part, but you get me...) Not bad living...
Friday we had no plans save for Billy working his ass off to complete a job. He and his friend were talking about getting together for dinner at the Keg, and his wonderful, kind, great friend suggested that the wives join in. We did it a couple of years ago and it was a blast. Anytime you go out to eat with 3 other people and the bill is way over $500 it has to be a good time...
I suspect we'll recover on Sunday only to carry on the visiting-(and drinking)-Chinese-and-old-movies- tradition on Monday.
I love this time of year!
Yesterday's big adventure was buying myself a pair of winter boots.
I have not owned winter boots proper since sometime in highschool. If I had to guess I would say grade 10. If I correctly recall, I was at my sister's house, she recently moved, 'next door' and there was something said about a change in her parking in downtown Windsor and her lack of necessary footware. That was that. I never again put on those gray boots again. It's true Terry... even if you don't remember it. It's okay, I'm over it...
So, aside from fashionable (at least that's what I believe) boots I have not owned at pair that successfully A) kept my feet dry and B) kept my feet warm in a very long time. Steel shank and toe Docs' don't do either...
Playing with the dogs, (I more watch than play actually) in a foot of snow, wearing snowpants, gloves, a hat and a heavy Roots coats with boots makes for A) dry socks and pant legs B) warm feet C) a happy Liz; and that is important.
So there.
